AN IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

We would like to assure all Woodland Free Range Egg customers that there is no reason to be concerned about buying our eggs.

Most of the free range eggs we sell are sourced directly from our own Woodland free range farms. From time to time when sales exceed our own supply, we purchase eggs from other free range egg producers, as outlined under Our Farms.

Palace Poultry was one of those suppliers. Palace Poultry is now under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO). We immediately stopped buying free range eggs from Palace Poultry in February 2017, as soon as we became aware of the issue.

We can verify that there are no Palace Poultry eggs in our supply chain or for consumer sale under the Woodland brand.

We have signed documentation from Palace Poultry that confirms the eggs we purchased were free range. We have audited their farm and also received copies of the MPI Verification Reports. We have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that we were actually getting what we were paying for.

We paid Palace Poultry free range egg prices for free range eggs and we are now extremely concerned that what we paid for is not what we got. If that is confirmed to be the case, then Palace Poultry have been totally fraudulent in their dealings with us.

We are outraged that this kind of fraudulent activity could be happening in New Zealand and that our company has been misled. The allegation made against Palace Poultry has a major impact on the credibility and professionalism of the whole free range egg industry which companies like ours have taken decades to take build.

Our company will continue to cooperate fully with all investigations into these allegations.

Woodland can assure our customers that we have absolute commitment to providing genuinely free range eggs at all times, and there is no reason to be concerned about buying our eggs.
