A veterinarian visit from the home of Woodland brown shaver hens

We had a visit from Hendrix Genetics veterinarian Dr Paul Grignon Dumoulin during the week of October 8th, during which he visited Ti Kouka and Hillgrove Free Range farms. Nina, our Free Range Quality Manager, also took him to a local rugby match to give him an idea of how proud we are of Otago. He even bought a shirt to show his support!

Dr Dumoulin is a veterinarian for the breeder company from where our brown shaver hens originate, and is based in France but travels all over the world. We always look forward to visits from the likes of Paul; it is such a great opportunity for Nina to ask him a million questions about what's happening in the industry elsewhere, how other people are doing things, what the future is for the shaver bird, and also a good opportunity to troubleshoot if we have any issues. Relationships with the likes of Paul are very important to us as we love continuing to learn. If we are ever faced with challenges that we need help with, we know these guys are on the other end of the phone to help out!
